Bell Lets Talk Diversity Fund
KEHEWIN NATIVE DANCE THEATRE is looking forward to our new voyage with the #Bellletstalkdiversityfund grant. Next week we are joining up with MAKE MUSIC MATTER to create a mobile studio that will be traveling and bringing The Naskwahamatowin, ‘Let’s all share in the music’ project to local communities. In May and June, after creating the mobile studio and training facilitators, we will travel throughout the area bringing the studio to on-reserve schools where youth will learn to use music as healing. Then in July, the youth will work in the KNDT studio, finalizing and editing their creations. #healinginharmony #kehewinnativedancetheatre #musicishealing #indigenousvoices

"Dancing Under the 13 Moons"
showcases our Native youth
upon the completion of their
summer dance training.
The storyline centres on Tipi
and Sky teachings. Through
dance and movement, Native youth spin a web of oral histories and ancient knowledge, that will leave the audiences full of delight and wonder.
Participants can appreciate the hoop dance by learning the techniques and being able to create a 3 hoop picture combination and how to make their own hoops.
