I really enjoyed the camp. It was my first year and I had fun learning all the different dance categories. I like how this show is about Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women because too many of our women are getting taken away from us and it affects us heavily.

This camp was an amazing learning experience! I enjoyed learning the new choreography. The new movements and techniques were a lot of fun too! I think that the theme is very important! hiy-hiy
Each Summer Kehewin Native Dance Theatre holds a 4 week training program for a maximum of 8 First Nations/Indigenous youth (ages 15-21) in the Kehewin Native Dance studio on the Kehewin First Nation in Alberta, Canada.
These youth are trained in Native theatre, script development, story creation, Pow wow dance, hoop dance and contemporary dance.
We work with the body, voice, group building, character development and scene creation. The youth create an original work which is toured locally and then toured throughout communities in Ontario each March.
Participants may choose to take part in attending cultural events each weekend throughout the program. In-house accommodations can be made available if students are coming a distance to attend.
